The African Union Commission’s Department for Economic Development, Tourism, Trade, Industry, and Minerals (ETTIM) plans to convene a three-day “PanAfrican Conference on Debt” under the theme “Africa’s Public Debt Management Agenda: Restoring and Safeguarding Debt Sustainability”. This Conference will provide a platform for the AU Member States to engage in meaningful discussion on the current debt situation on the continent, share country experiences, and develop recommendations to feed into an African common position on debt.

The overall objective of the Pan African conference will be to enable the AU member states to engage in a candid dialogue on the current debt situation on the continent, share country experiences, and come up with recommendations to feed into an African common position on debt.
