After years of tension and technical debate, countries at the Bonn climate talks have finally reached a hard-won agreement on how to measure adaptation progress. It’s a major step for climate-vulnerable nations, but challenges around funding and accountability remain.

With COP30 around the corner, this breakthrough may be just what’s needed to elevate adaptation to the global agenda.
